WUSD to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony May 13

WHITEWATER, WI — The Whitewater Unified School District will host a groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction on projects funded by the April 2025 referendum.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 13, from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Whitewater High School. Community members, families, staff, and local partners are invited to attend and celebrate this important moment for the school community.

“This groundbreaking represents a major milestone for our WUSD schools and community,” said Superintendent Samuel Karns. “We are grateful to our community for their support of the referendum and look forward to seeing these projects come to life in ways that will benefit our students for generations.”

Parking will be available in the auditorium lot. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the auditorium.

The referendum, approved by voters on April 1, 2025, will fund projects designed to improve learning environments across the district, supporting student achievement and wellbeing while addressing facility needs.
